Sparkling wines come in all shapes and sizes - white, red, pink, dry, sweet or rich! Sparkling wine is a wine with significant levels of carbon dioxide in it, creating the ever so famous bubbles. The carbon dioxide may result from natural fermentation, either in a bottle, as with the traditional method (Méthode Champagnoise), in a large tank designed to withstand the pressures involved, or as a result of carbon dioxide injection.
Most Australian sparkling wine is produced from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir or Semillon, but an Australian speciality is the Sparkling Shiraz, a red sparkling wine produced from powerful red Shiraz grapes. At Label Wines we can offer you a wide range of bubbles including red, rosé and white, featuring some of the different productions techniques mentioned above. We also showcase Sparkling wines from a number of different regions, including Tasmania, the current hot bed of Australian Sparkling wine with both the traditional grape varieties and method of secondary fermentation being employed. As a result, our range now also features some premium, top-of-the-range wines which will certainly surprise even the most seasoned wine connoisseur.
